Summary

Support the Education team with school visits (5-18 yrs), Nature Tots (2-5 yrs), after school clubs, holiday workshops or monthly Saturday Nature Clubs (5yrs+)

Detailed description

Education Volunteers will support the Education Team to deliver fun and exciting environmental activities which could include school visits (5-18 years), Nature Tots (2-5 years), after school clubs, holiday workshops and our monthly Saturday Nature Clubs (5 years +). 

Activities range from pond dipping, mini beast hunting and bird watching to nature crafts and art, bushcraft and toasting marshmallows over a fire.


Skills

• Enjoy working with children and young people, with previous experience desirable.

• Good communication skills with the ability to encourage all ages to engage.

• Support with set up and close down of activities.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

• Enthusiasm for both wildlife and conservation.

• References will be sought.

• Enhanced disclosure check (DBS) will be required - to be arranged by WKWT at no cost to the volunteer.

- The role is a great way to keep fit and active, whilst enjoying the surroundings of both our Nature Centres. You will meet new people - we have lots of education volunteers and all chat during lunch.

 Flexible, we have opportunities across term time, school holidays 

and throughout the week - including occasional Saturdays

You will be based at: The Parkridge Centre, Brueton Park, Solihull B91 3HW and / or Brandon Marsh Nature Centre, Coventry CV3 3GW Days and time we would like you to be available: Flexible, we have opportunities across term time, school holidays and throughout the week - including occasional Saturdays.
