Country Coordinators have a vital and very exciting role as they are the face of TWAM in Africa. They work directly with our in-country volunteer teams to support groups applying for tools, process their applications and prepare containers for despatch.
Seeing your first container full of life-changing tools leave one of our Refurbishment Centres is quite something. It is moving to reach applications and the desperate needs within their communities that churches and groups are trying so hard to meet. Reading the letters of thanks and the stories of lives transformed after the tools have arrived is inspiring.
The Country Coordinator role would suit somebody who wants to engage on a deeper and more personal level with the people of Africa and has the time commitment to take on our work in a whole country.
We currently support DR Congo, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Burundi, and Zimbabwe. We hope to add other countries, such as Rwanda, and Botswana, to the list in the future.

Through our 'local to global' model, we prevent nearly 400 tonnes of tools from crowding UK landfills annually and engage local communities, offering volunteering opportunities that nurture skills and foster social connections. The impact of our work resonates globally, as we supply refurbished tools to over 500 organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa. These tools equip individuals with the skills needed to completely transform their lives and communities.
By refurbishing and recycling, we save over 1,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, demonstrating our commitment to environmental sustainability. Our toolkits serve as catalysts for change, from supporting families and education to strengthening communities. Our local efforts have a global impact, helping to create a world where everyone has the chance to thrive.
