We are looking for a volunteer grant/bid writer, who can join our new charity help us generate much needed income to continue our work in the local community, supporting families living with autism. You will do this by writing trust and foundation grants applications.
Roots to Branches Autism Network is a local charity which relies on income from our fundraising activities and local grant makers. By helping us maximise our income you will have a direct impact on the services we can provide and the benefits we can deliver to our service users.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and research potential grant opportunities and funding sources.
- Prepare, write and submit grant applications and proposals.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
- Administer a donor and funding database
- Collaborate with the team to ensure effective communication and coordination of fundraising efforts.
- Report to the Board of Trustees
Requirements:
- Strong research, organisation/planning and writing skills.
- Be willing to find out about local and national grant making organisations.
- Experience of writing successful funding bids and submitting them to relevant grant making bodies.
- Demonstrate creative and imaginative thinking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or a related field is desired but not essential.
- Produce reports to Board of Trustees
- Knowledge of charity accounting procedures and rules.

Our focus is to provide support for local children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families in the form of non-judgmental group sessions, both in-house and in public settings. Our service also extends to families who are awaiting assessment for their children.
Group Leaders have experience with ASD which enables them to work with the children with a superb level of understanding and patience.
Our team are also on hand to offer support and advice to parents/carers with empathy and knowledge gained through experience.
We welcome all members of the family including young carers.
We also run regular coffee mornings within local schools.
