Detailed description

Role Summary:

The Ongoing Social Media Volunteer will continuously manage RE(YOU)S' social media presence. This includes planning, creating, and posting engaging content reflecting RE(YOU)S’ community and sustainability; The volunteer will also interact with followers, respond to messages, and help grow the RE(YOU)S online community by consistently highlighting key events, initiatives, and stories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Planning & Strategy:
  • Collaborate with the RE(YOU)S team to create a content calendar for regular social media posts.
  • Plan content around upcoming events (e.g., EX(CHANGE) events, workshops) and ongoing initiatives like the RE(SOURCE) Hub.
  • Identify key topics such as sustainability tips, community success stories, and volunteer spotlights to highlight between events.
  • Content Creation:
  • Create posts that promote upcoming events, share behind-the-scenes updates, and celebrate RE(YOU)S milestones.
  • Write engaging captions that align with the tone of RE(YOU)S, reflecting the core values of empowerment and inclusivity.
  • Capture or curate photos and videos from events, workshops, and community stories to showcase on social media platforms.
  • Develop regular Instagram/Facebook stories to keep followers updated in a fun, digestible way.
  • Engagement & Community Building:
  • Respond to messages and comments, engaging with the online community in a positive and helpful way.
  • Grow the RE(YOU)S community by following and interacting with relevant accounts, such as local businesses, sustainability influencers, and community partners.
  • Highlight and tag partners, sponsors, volunteers, and participants in posts to expand reach.
  • Event Coverage:
  • Provide live social media coverage for all RE(YOU)S events, capturing key moments and engaging online audiences in real time.
  • Share event recaps and success stories to maintain momentum after events.
  • Analytics & Reporting:
  • Track social media metrics and engagement (likes, comments, shares, follower growth) to understand what content resonates most with the audience.
  • Provide brief reports to the RE(YOU)S team on social media performance and suggest content improvements or adjustments.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Experience in social media management, focusing on content creation and community engagement.
  • Creativity in writing engaging posts and captions and producing photos and videos.
  • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other social platforms.
  • Ability to create and follow a content calendar to ensure consistent posting.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the values of RE(YOU)S, particularly sustainability, community, and empowerment.

Time Commitment:

  • Ongoing: Approximately 5-7 hours per week, with flexible working hours.
  • Events: Additional time for live event coverage, as needed.
