Summary
We are seeking dedicated Volunteer Translators to assist with language translation during assessments and support sessions.Detailed description
This role is crucial in ensuring that non-English speaking individuals can fully engage with and benefit from our support services. The volunteer will work closely with our team to provide accurate and culturally sensitive translation to support our clients' needs.
Your role will include:
- Provide real-time translation during assessments and support sessions, either in-person or online.
- Ensure clear and accurate communication between all parties, including technical information regarding benefits eligibility.
- Assist in translating documents, forms and other materials as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the needs and backgrounds of people receiving support.
- Collaborate with team members to provide the best possible support for people.
About you:
- Fluency in English as well as any language - please just let us know.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using phones and basic computer software.
