Role Overview

As a Volunteer Playworker, you will play a key role in creating an enriching, inclusive, and enjoyable play environment for children. Working as part of a supportive team, you will provide hands-on assistance in planning and delivering play sessions while supporting the unique needs of each family. Your contribution will help nurture confidence, social skills, and a sense of belonging in the children and families we work alongside.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Facilitate safe, inclusive, and engaging play activities for children of various ages and abilities.

·       Support children’s social, emotional and physical development through creative and structured play.

·       Collaborate to plan and set up play environments that encourage exploration and creativity.

·       Build positive relationships with parents ensuring they feel supported.

·       Promote the values of inclusivity and respect, celebrating the diverse backgrounds and needs of families.

·       Assist in supervising children during play sessions, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.

·       Attend relevant training and team meetings to enhance your skills and contribution to the service.

Experience and Requirements

·       Previous experience working with children is helpful but not essential—enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are key.

·       Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies (DBS check required).

·       Availability to volunteer regularly and maintain open communication with the team.
