Love4Life Event Hostie

Being a Love4Life Event Hostie is an exciting, fun and flexible role that helps adults with learning disabilities and people with autism to connect and have fun. Alongside a fellow hostie, you will help to run local, pop up social events for our Coventry members. All events are pre-organised and risk assessed and most take place on weekday evenings. As an Event Hostie, you will meet and greet the members, ensure everything runs smoothly and that everyone has a great time. Meals out, drinks in Wetherspoons, walks and talks, quizzes, craft sessions, museum visits, drama, music, sports, cinema and bowling - are just some of the types of activities you can help to host and that our members love to get involved with. By providing a welcoming space that is vibrant, full of fun and accessible, you will help to combat loneliness and isolation, allowing people with disabilities to kick back, relax and make lasting memories with their mates. Just choose the events that will fit around your own schedule (the minimum commitment is at least 1 event per month). Good communication skills are essential as well as a being flexible and reliable.

With a bit of experience you may also choose to be a chaperone for any members wising to go on a date (many people join Love4Life because they want to meet that special someone).

No experience of learning disabilities or people with autism is necessary as full training will be given and Initially you will learn how to host events alongside one of our experienced coordinators. You will also receive ongoing support and the opportunity to claim reasonable expenses.
