Summary
Our Good Neighbours men's groups provide men over 50 with a safe space to chat & make friends. Could you help them make conversation & join in?Detailed description
Good Neighbours Coventry runs three weekly men's groups:
- Tuesdays 2pm-3.30pm at ICC Keresley CV6 2FJ
- Thursdays 6.30pm-8pm at St Paul’s Foleshill CV6 5AJ
- Fridays 1pm-2.30pm at St Martin's Finham CV3 6EA
These groups are aimed at older men, to have a safe place to chat & meet new people. Some of the men are living with depression or anxiety. Some are carers. Some have dementia. All of them are great company, and love to share stories & chat about life.
This volunteer role is to help our men's worker to run a group. You would ensure everyone in the group is able to talk, facilitating conversation & stepping in where needed. You could help serving refreshments too.
This role requires excellent social skills and a compassionate listening ear. Volunteers for this role must be male, age 18+.
The groups run weekly, but there is no obligation for a volunteer to attend every week. You can volunteer at one group, two, or all three.
