Summary

Guide Dogs is looking for volunteers to welcome one of the 90 new guide dog mums joining our breeding programme in 2025! Join our virtual event to find out more

Detailed description

If you are interested in having a Guide Dog mum in your home, why not join this free event to find out more.

Our Breeding Dog Volunteer role is ideal for dog-lovers seeking a permanent furry family member. Your guide dog mum will be a loving pet most of the year, with the special task of raising life-changing guide dog puppies roughly once a year for about 8 weeks.

Why volunteer?

  • Watch adorable puppies grow from tiny newborns to confident bundles of joy.
  • Feel the pride of helping create life-changing guide dogs for people with sight loss.
  • Enjoy a socialised, house-trained dog and the option to adopt her when she retires.
  • All costs covered – food, vet bills, training, and equipment.

📍 Eligibility: Volunteers must live within an hour of our National Centre near Leamington Spa, CV33 9QJ.

📅 Virtual Information Event:

Join us online on Monday 31st January, 12:00pm – 1:00pm via Microsoft Teams to learn more. Hear from our team and current volunteers and take the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
