Summary

Looking for groups of 5 Volunteers who like to play football and Mental Health in a series of relaxed tournaments for players of ALL ABILITIES AND AGES 18+.

Detailed description

Would your group like to take part in a non-competitive 5-a-side walking football tournament for adults aged 18+ on an ad-hoc basis? Tournaments are once per month, exact date and location in The Midlands, which we can provide 2 weeks prior to each tournament. They are around midday and last 2 hours maximum. Transport is required, so please make sure travel arrangements are possible.

The Tournaments are hosted by some of the Top Community football Trusts and Foundations in The Midlands. Sky Blues in the Community, Aston Villa FC Foundation, Baggies Foundation, Walsall FC Foundation, Alvechurch FC Foundation, and Wolves FC Foundation are among them.

These foundations host a tournament every year and the players who are predominantly 25-50 male are very welcoming and it is thoroughly enjoyable.

Your role as a group is to represent your organisation and FC Equalise in the tournament. Playing 6 x 10 minute games on a small pitch (1/8 full size).

Each Player would require Outdoor footwear for 3G/4G pitches, moulded studs or trainers, shin pads, socks, and shorts. Your Goalkeeper will need gloves. We will provide the teams shirts on the day, to be returned afterwards please.

The tournaments are part of The Mental Health League, run by the Birmingham County Football Association, and covered by public liability insurance.

The emphasis is on representing your community by simply turning up, getting outdoors, and sharing a healthy experience, shaking hands with the opposition and going home feeling good.

This is a team-work, communication, light exercise opportunity that would suit any group who are able to organise themselves on and off the pitch. You will have the support of the Mental Health Team Manager who will be your contact on the day.
