Summary
We are looking for adult volunteers to help maintain our building, grounds and boats.Detailed description
Coventry Sea Cadets are not a pre-service organisation, although many of our members do go on to careers at sea, and you don't need to know anything about the Royal Navy to volunteer with us.
We offer activities like sailing, rowing, engineering, windsurfing, catering, meteorology and sports to young people aged 10-18, and to continue to offer the best experience to the young people of Coventry, we need adult volunteers to help maintain our premises and boats.
This role is an un-uniformed role, ideal for people who are good with DIY, with flexible timings to fit around you. Jobs might include things like replacing the felt on our boat shed roof, fitting catches to windows, power washing the boats, fitting replacement catches and plates, and weeding the yard, but this is very much whatever you are prepared to do, when you are available.
You must be an adult (over 18) British citizen or have the right to remain in the UK, and must have lived in the UK for the last five years. Due to proximity to young people, you will be required to go through an enhanced DBS check.
About Coventry Sea Cadets
We offer a range of different activities from sailing, windsurfing and powerboating - to rock climbing, camping, and music, all delivered by volunteers like you. We offer training in everything we do, so you can gain nationally recognised qualifications and pass on your knowledge to our young people.
