Summary
We have a variety of flexible ways for individuals, groups, or teams to get involved in our beautiful Coventry Peace OrchardDetailed description
The Peace Orchard provides a beautiful and serene environment for local people to visit.
We welcome all volunteers and anyone who wants to help out and feel connected to the Peace Orchard, whether you come alone or part of a group; just once or you want to return to do more!
You don't need any previous experience or skills, although we welcome those too. Some of the tasks we complete across the year are:
- Digging, planting and pruning
- Apple harvest
- General maintenance and tidying of the grounds
- Community events
We're able to take teams of employee volunteers too, so if you'd like to discuss and schedule in a volunteering day to get your staff out of the office and make a difference, get in touch!
What we will provide to volunteers
💸 Reimbursement of costsAbout Coventry Peace Orchard
The Peace Orchard is the flagship project of the Normandy Day UK charity, and was set up by WW11 veteran Dennis Davison. After fighting in France and then living there for many years, Dennis returned to Coventry with a dream of recreating some of the Orchards of Normandy. This became a reality in 2016 and it's now led by his daughter Heather. Volunteers are now needed to help care for this wonderful place that is a much loved feature in Coundon Hall Park and offers peace and sanctuary to all.
