Summary
Helping people to access the internet in a library or other community location.Detailed description
As a community digital volunteer, you will help people to get online and navigate to get the information, services and support they need. This will include things like benefit calculators, online sources of help with problem debt, grants and trust funds and price comparisons.
Being a community digital volunteer can involve:
- Helping people to access the internet in a library or other community location.
- Discussing with people what information they want to find.
- Showing people where trusted sources of information on debt and welfare benefits can be found.
- Helping people to understand what information is required when filling in online forms.
Who are we looking for?
- People who can talk to members of the community who are from a range of different backgrounds and different circumstances with patience and empathy.
- People who are non-judgemental and are friendly and approachable with good communication skills.
- People who are confident online.
- People with good literacy and numeracy skills
What will you gain
- You will be making a difference to the lives of local people, some of whom are living in very challenging circumstances.
