Summary

We support Young Carers aged 5 - 18 years of age, by providing emotional support, arranging trips, youth clubs, and life skills sessions.

Detailed description

We require volunteers who are passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential. We are looking for fun, enthusiastic, and vibrant volunteers to assist with age appropriate activities and sessions.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Running Youth Club activities, life skills sessions, and other events
  • Preparing and serving food/refreshments Setting up and clearing away activities/kitchen area
  • Report any safeguarding concerns to the Activity Worker.
  • Encouraging young carers to participate in events/activities/sessions. Ensuring the safety and comfort of young carers during events/activities/sessions
  • Developing and delivering a variety of activities that suit different abilities and preferences
  • Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed and that risk assessments are carried out
  • Providing feedback and evaluation on the impact and outcomes of the activities

Times and Commitment:

There is a degree of flexibility with regard to time, depending on the nature, and frequency, of the activity being carried out with young carers. However, it would be helpful if you could commit to volunteering for a minimum of 2 hours a week for at least 6 months.


Please note that the lower age limit for volunteering with Carers Trust Heart of England is 18, due to our safeguarding policy and insurance. This post is subject to a successful informal interview and a DBS check.
